Oklahoma newspaper carrier shot while making deliveries
TULSA, Okla. (AP) – A Tulsa newspaper carrier has been wounded by gunfire while making deliveries on her route.
Tulsa police say they received reports of a shooting at 4:30 a.m. Saturday and that officers found a woman sitting in her car with two gunshot wounds to her chest. Officers say the woman was alert and was transported in stable condition to a Tulsa hospital.
The woman, a carrier for the Tulsa World, told officers she was in her car delivering newspapers when she was hit by several gunshots. Officers found nine bullet holes in the woman’s car and about 59 shell casings in the area where the woman says the shooting occurred.
The woman told officers she had seen three men standing in the roadway.
Police did not identify the shooting victim.
