The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 569 new positive COVID-19 cases for Sunday, Oct. 4. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 91,317 COVID-19 cases as 12,659 are active.
One additional virus-related death was reported Sunday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,052.
Kay County saw a slight increase with three new COVID-19 cases, putting the county’s overall stats to 678 cases, 14 deaths and 530 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, there are 116 for Ponca City, 10 for Newkirk, seven for Blackwell, five for Tonkawa and four for Kaw City.
For new cases in local counties, there are 14 for Payne, four for Washington, three for Garfield and two for Osage.

OSDH is reporting 602 new recoveries for Sunday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 77,606. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Friday, 1,140,601 test results have returned negative. There have been 6,569 total hospitalizations as 623 people are currently hospitalized.
