The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,190 new positive COVID-19 cases for Friday, Oct. 2. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 89,559 COVID-19 cases as 12,762 cases are active.
Nine additional virus-related deaths were reported Friday. Two were females from Logan and Washington counties that were both in the age 65 or older group.
Kay County saw 14 new COVIID-19 cases Friday, putting the county’s stats to 670 cases, 13 deaths and 510 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, there are 131 for Ponca City, nine for Newkirk, seven for Blackwell and four each for Kaw City and Tonkawa.
For new cases in local counties, there are 103 for Osage, 40 for Payne, 31 for Garfield, 14 for Logan, two for Washington and one for Pawnee.

OSDH is reporting 1,270 new recoveries Friday as there have been an overall total of 75,753 recoveries statewide. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Friday, 1,140,601 test results have returned negative. There have been 6,569 total hospitalizations as 623 people are currently hospitalized.
