Oklahoma man suspected of driving into hospital dies in jail

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A man arrested for allegedly driving a pickup truck into an Oklahoma City hospital waiting room has died in jail.

The Oklahoma County sheriff’s office says 40-year-old Charlton Cash Chrisman was found dead in his cell Wednesday.

A suspected cause of death wasn’t released and the sheriff’s office says the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating.

Chrisman was arrested shortly after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after allegedly driving into the waiting area of the emergency room at Alliance Health Deaconess Hospital.

No hospital staff or patients were injured.

Chrisman was arrested on complaints of reckless driving, malicious injury and destruction of property.
