OSDH reporting 861 new COVID-19 cases for Monday, Sept. 28

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 861 new positive COVID-19 cases for Monday, Sept. 28. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 85,194 COVID-19 cases as 13,379 cases are active.

One additional virus-related death was documented for Monday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,007. The individual was a Muskogee County woman in the 50 to 64 age group.

Kay County saw an increase with 11 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, putting the county’s stats to 596 cases, 13 deaths and 442 recoveries. As for the active cases in the county, there are 126 for Ponca City, eight for Tonkawa, seven for Blackwell, six for Newkirk and one for Kaw City.

As for new cases in local counties, there are 82 for Osage County, 46 for Garfield County, 39 for Payne County, 25 for Logan County, four for Washington County, two each for Grant and Pawnee counties and one for Noble County.

Kay County – 596 cases/13 deaths/442 recoveries

Logan County – 492 cases/1 death/383 recoveries

Pawnee County – 255 cases/3 deaths/233 recoveries

Noble County – 152 cases/2 deaths/131 recoveries

Grant County – 48 cases/no deaths/37 recoveries

 

An additional 537 recoveries were reported for Monday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 70,808. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials report that as of Friday, Sept. 25, 1,058,144 test results have returned negative. There have been 6,192 total hospitalizations as 590 people are currently hospitalized.
