Time to make plans for Battle of the Burger ’17!

Start making plans to be a part of the Second Battle of the Burger, sponsored by Ponca City Main Street.

Individuals, community organizations, chefs, businesses and friends can form teams for the competition.

 

The Burger Cook-off will feature cash prizes for Best Burger in first through third places and also a cash prize for the Best People’s Choice Burger and the Best People’s Choice Side Dish.

Each team will cook a total of 40 pounds of meat.  Teams can get as creative as they’d like with burger toppings, condiments and ingredients.  Registration fee is $50.

Prizes for those judged Best Burger are $500 for first place; $250 for second place, and $100 for third place.

Winners for both  People’s Choice – Best Burger and People’s Choice – Best Side will will $100.

The Battle will be held on June 2, with tasting from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Awards will be given at 8 p.m. Teams can begin set-up at 2 p.m.

The competition will be on Sixth Street from Grand Avenue to Cleveland Avenue and in the Library parking lot.

Funds raised during the Battle of the Burger will be used to further Main Street’s mission of serving Ponca City and its citizens by promoting quality of life through efforts focused toward economic growth, historical preservation, cultural development and revitalization of the downtown and surrounding area.

This event will be held in conjunction with Cruzin’ Grand for the second year in a row.
