Blackwell phone scam reported

Team Radio Marketing Group - April 5, 2017 11:50 am

The Blackwell Chamber of Commerce said this morning that it has been advised by Administration at Blackwell Regional Hospital of a potential phone scam occurring in Blackwell.

The number the scammers are calling from is displayed as 580-363-9425.

The callers identify themselves as representatives from Blackwell Regional Hospital and then tell the person they have won a vacation from the Hospital. This message has somewhat differed.

As expected, none of that is true!

The caller then attempts to obtain personal information such as Social Security number, date of birth and credit card information.

So far, three people have reported this occurrence to the hospital.  This has been reported to the Blackwell Police Department.

If you have any concerns or questions, please call the Blackwell Police Department at (580) 363-5490.
