Oklahoma sheriff says deputy fatally shot man at end of pursuit

BYARS, Okla. (AP) – Authorities say a deputy sheriff has fatally shot a man at the end of a vehicle pursuit in central Oklahoma.
McClain County Sheriff Don Hewitt told reporters that the pursuit ended about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Byars with deputies and the man exchanging gunfire.
Hewitt said the man has not been identified and details of when and why the pursuit began were not immediately released.
Byars is about 50 miles southeast of Oklahoma City.
