Six new COVID-19 cases for Kay County on Friday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,077 new positive COVID-19 cases for Friday, Aug. 21. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 51,746 COVIID-19 with 7,614 cases active.

Six more COVID-19 cases were reported for Kay County where the current stats are 281, 11 deaths and 238 recoveries. Of the 32 active cases in Kay County, 24 are in Ponca City, four in Blackwell, and two in both Kaw City and Newkirk.

Good news for Grant County. While 18 cases have been reported, all 18 have recovered.

For new cases in local counties, There are 34 for Garfield County, 27 for Payne County, eight for Pawnee County, seven for Osage County, six for Logan County, five for Washington County and one for Noble County. You can see a list of the data for local counties at the bottom of the article.

Six additional virus-related deaths were documented on Friday. At this, there is no information regarding the whereabouts of the deaths. Oklahoma’s death toll is at 715.

OSDH reports that 722 more Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19, putting the statewide recovery total to 43,417. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
