Oklahoma troopers recover body of drowning victim
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a dive team has recovered the body of a 19-year-old Blanchard man who drowned in Caddo County.
A preliminary report from the patrol says Nathan S. Williams drowned Thursday afternoon at Chickasha Lake. His body was recovered Friday morning.
Troopers say Williams was trying to swim out to a jet ski and was unable to make it. Williams turned around and attempted to return to shore, but went under and didn’t resurface.
The dive team found Williams in about 20 feet of water, north of the west end of Lake Chickasha Dam.
The report says Williams was not wearing a life vest.
