The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 369 new positive COVID-19 cases on Monday, Aug. 17. There have been 48,711 COVID-19 cases across Oklahoma since the pandemic began, and 7,515 cases are active.
Kay County has one new COVID-19 case to put the overall total to 267 cases, 11 deaths and 225 recoveries.
For new cases in surrounding counties, Washington County has nine, Garfield County with eight, Osage and Payne counties both have six, two for Pawnee County and one for Noble County.
OSDH is reporting four additional virus-related deaths on Monday. This includes a Cleveland County male and an Oklahoma County male that are both in the 65 or older age group, and a male and a female both of Tulsa County in the 50-64 age group. Oklahoma has seen a total of 665 virus-related deaths.
OSDH is also reporting that as of Monday, 307 more individuals in Oklahoma have recovered from COVID-19, putting the state’s recovery total to 40,531. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
