One man is dead after a fatality collision that occurred at 10:27 p.m. Saturday night along Interstate 35 at mile marker 203, approximately 6 miles east and 1/2 mile south of Billings, OK in Noble County.
Laguess Malcolm, 28, of Wichita, KS. was driving a GMC Terrain northbound on I-35. Also travelling northbound was a GMC Yukon driven by Michael Harris, 67, of Bonner, MT. Malcolm’s vehicle struck the rear Harris’ vehicle, causing Harris to strike the outside shoulder guardrail. Malcolm’s vehicle continued into the center median, rolled an undetermined amount of times into the southbound lanes and ejecting the driver 100′ from Vehicle 1 in the southbound lanes.
Malcolm was pronounced dead at the scene by Tonkawa Fire Department. Harris refused medical treatment on scene.
OHP report shows that Malcolm did have a seatbelt, but was not in use. Harris was wearing a seatbelt. The airbag did deploy for Malcolm, but not for Harris.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Beck #700 of the Kay/Noble Detachment of Troop K. Assisted by Trooper Vaughan #832, Noble County Sheriff Department, Kay County Sheriff Department, Tonkawa Fire and EMS, Fort Oakland Police Department, Tonkawa Police Department, Billings Fire Department, and AirEvac.
