A total of 670 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Wednesday from the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Oklahoma has now seen 45,398 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, and 6,738 cases are active.
Nine more virus-related deaths were reported as the death toll is now at 627. None occurred in northern Oklahoma.
Kay County saw one new case and has 31 cases active. Kay County’s stats are 252 cases, 11 deaths and 210 recoveries. Out of the active cases in the county, Ponca City has 17, Blackwell has six, Kay City and Tonkawa both with four and two for Newkirk.
For new cases in nearby counties, Payne County has 12, Garfield County saw the most with 19, Osage and Washington counties both with five and three for Logan County.
OSDH is also reporting 795 new recoveries, putting the statewide recovery total to 37,988. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
As of Wednesday, 676,709 test results for Oklahoma have returned negative. There have been 3,842 total hospitalizations, and 519 people are currently hospitalized.
