Barbara Fern Ashlock

(July 2, 1936 – March 13, 2017)

Barbara Fern Ashlock passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Ponca City. Barbara was born on July 2, 1936 in Allen, Oklahoma to her parents, Hobart and Vessie (Triplett) Richmond. She met her husband, Richard Ashlock while in high school in Allen, Oklahoma. They were married on December 19, 1953. They moved to Ponca City in 1961 when Richard began working for Conoco. They moved to Tulsa for 16 years where they raised their two children, Blake and Kelli. Later, they returned to Ponca City in 1987. Together, Barbara and Richard traveled to several states presenting safety seminars for the Pipeline Group. Barbara was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa and later, the First Baptist Church in Ponca City.

Barbra was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her parents, Hobart and Vessie.

She is survived by her son, Blake Ashlock of Dallas, daughter, Kelli Ashlock, grandsons, Robert Ashlock of Ponca City and Darren Ashlock of Ponca City, and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life ceremony for Barbara will be held at First Baptist Church in Ponca City on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
