Eleventh virus-related death reported for Osage County, 848 new COVID-19 cases for Oklahoma

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 848 new positive COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, July 29. Oklahoma has now seen 34,623 cases since the start of the pandemic, and 7,237 are active.

Osage County is reporting it’s eleventh virus-related death on Wednesday. The individual was a male in the 65 or older age group. Osage County also saw six new COVID-19 cases, putting their overall total to 340 cases, 11 deaths and 279 recoveries.

Kay County saw one new COVID-19 case on Wednesday. Kay County has now seen 199 cases, 10 deaths and 150 recoveries. Out of the 39 cases active in the county, 34 are in Ponca City, four in Blackwell and one in Tonkawa.

As for new cases in other local counties,Garfield County took the biggest jump with 16, Payne County has nine, Washington County with seven, Logan County has five and three for Pawnee County. Noble and Grant counties both dropped down one case.

Including the death in Osage County, 14 virus-related deaths were reported Wednesday. None of which were identified in the last 24 hours.

  • A Caddo County female in the 50-64 age group.
  • Three in Cleveland County, two males that were both in the 50-64 age group and one male in the 65 or older age group.
  • A Comanche County male in the 65 or older age group.
  • Two in McCurtain County, a male in the 50-64 age group and a female in the 65 or older age group.
  • Two in Oklahoma County, a male in the 50-64 age group and a male in the 65 or older age group.
  • An Okmulgee County male in the 65 or older age group.
  • A Sequoyah County male in the 65 or older age group.
  • A Tulsa County male in the 65 or older age group.
  • A Wagoner County male in the 65 or older age group.

Oklahoma’s virus-related death toll is now at 523.

OSDH is also reporting 1,023 new recoveries for Wednesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 27,386. In order for a recovery to count, an recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
