The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,081 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, July 28. Oklahoma has now seen up to 33,775 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, and 7,412 cases are active.
A tenth virus-related death was reported for Kay County on Tuesday. The individual was a Ponca City female in the 65 or older age group. This is also the eighth virus-related death for Ponca City.
Kay County also saw 10 new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, putting the county’s total to 198 cases, 10 deaths and 146 recoveries. Out of the 42 active cases in Kay County, Ponca City has 34, Blackwell with five and Tonkawa and Newkirk both with one.
Garfield County is also reporting a new virus-related death, making it the fourth death for the county. The individual was a male the to 50-64 age group. Garfield County also saw 15 new COVID-19 cases as the county has now seen 306 cases, 4 deaths and 191 recoveries.
As for new cases in other nearby counties, Logan, Osage and Washington counties each have nine, Pawnee County with five, Payne County has four and Grant County with three.
Besides the deaths in Kay and Garfield counties, eleven other virus-related deaths were reported Tuesday. None of the ten new deaths occurred in the past 24 hours.

- A Wagoner County female in the 65 or older age group.
Oklahoma’s death toll is now at 509.
OSDH is reporting 1,111 new recoveries for Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 26,363. To considered recovered from the virus, an recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
