The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 603 new positive COVID-19 cases on Thursday, July 9. This brings Oklahoma to 18,496 cases since the start of the pandemic, and 4,396 cases are active.
A third virus-related death was reported for Pawnee County. The individual was a female in the 65 or older age group. There were two other deaths reported as Oklahoma’s death toll is at 410.
Kay County saw five new cases reported Thursday, Three of the cases are in Ponca City, putting the city’s overall total at 110 with 21 active. Blackwell and Tonkawa both have seen six cases overall, and both have two active cases. Newkirk has one active case.
As for new cases in surrounding counties, Payne County has 10, Garfield County has seven, Osage County with six, Logan county with five, Pawnee County has four, three for Washington County and two for Noble County.
OSDH is reporting 562 new recoveries, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total at 14,100.
Officials report that there have been up to 383,258 negative specimens, 1,893 total hospitalizations and 453 patients currently hospitalized.
Data from OSDH also shows that 35.88% of those who tested positive are in the 18-35 age group, 22.25% in the 36-49 age group, 17,88% in the 50-64 age group, 15.24% in the 65 or older age group, 6.84% in the 5-17 age group and 1.91% in the 0-4 age group.
