The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 355 new positive COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, July 1. The number of cases for Oklahoma is now at 14,112 since testing started, and 3,507 cases are active.
For new cases in local counties, Payne County has five, Osage County with three, Washington County has two and one each for Kay, Garfield and Pawnee counties.
For active cases in local communities, Stillwater has 120, Ponca City with 19, Bartlesville has 10, 11 for Enid, five in Perry, Red Rock with four and Fairfax, Orlando and Tonkawa each have two. Newkirk is now reporting one active case, Pawhuska and Morrison also have one case.
Two more virus-related deaths were documented Wednesday, Neither of which occurred in the last 24 hours. Both were men in Tulsa County in the 65 or older age group. Oklahoma’s death toll is now at 389.
Some good news is that new data shows 520 new recoveries, the most recoveries reported in a single day for Oklahoma since testing started. Oklahoma has now seen 10,605 recoveries.
As of Wednesday, health officials report that there have been up to 332,201 total negative specimens. There have been 1,553 total hospitalizations while 315 patients are currently hospitalized.
