The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 228 new positive COVID-19 cases across Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 16. This is the most cases reported for Oklahoma in a single day since the pandemic started. Overall, Oklahoma has now seen 8,645 COVID-19 cases with 1,880 of those cases being active at this time.
For local counties across north central Oklahoma, Payne County saw the biggest increase with 37 new COVID-19 cases, Kay, Noble and Garfield counties all have four new cases,
- Payne County – 142 cases overall/1 death/50 recoveries
- Osage County- 114 cases overall/8 deaths/92 recoveries
- Kay County – 69 cases overall/7 deaths/49 recoveries
- Garfield County – 51 cases overall/1 death/27 recoveries
- Pawnee County – 41 cases overall/2 deaths/33 recoveries
- Logan County – 24 cases overall/1 death/19 recoveries
- Noble County – 18 cases overall/no deaths/7 recoveries
- Grant County – 2 cases overall/no deaths/2 recoveries
Four virus-related deaths were documented for Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll at 363. The deaths are believed to have happened between June 7 and June 14.
- Two Tulsa County males, one in the 18-35 age group, and the other in the 65 or older age group.
- A Grady County female in the 50-64 age group.
- A Washington County male in the 65 or older age group.
New data shows that 137 more Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19, putting the state’s recovery total at 6,765.
OSDH also reports on Tuesday that there have been up to 253,160 negative specimens. There have been 1,130 total hospitalizations with 172 patients currently hospitalized.
