(Aug-a-ma-the) Curran Lansing Kemble Jan. 23, 1948 – Feb. 11, 2017
After a great battle with cancer, Curran Lansing Kemble attained victory on February 11, 2017, and passed unto our great Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Curran was born in Ponca City, OK, on January 23, 1948, the son of Lansing B. Kemble and Melvina Primeaux. Curran was educated in the Ponca City school system and graduated with the class of 1966. He enjoyed the class reunions and family get-togethers.
Curran is survived by his lovely wife Zora, son Brandon L. Kemble, daughter Johnnie Sue Belcher, three grandchildren Nikia Miller, James Lansing Kemble, and Olivia Nicole Kemble, as well as great-grandchild, Mia Miller.
Curran was 100% Ponca Indian. He was extremely proud of his maternal grandmother, Lucy Shines White Primeaux and paternal grandmother, Mary Horse Chief Eagle Kemble. Curran expresses his love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Go unto the world, and express your love of our Lord and Savior.
Pallbearers will be: Dean Garroutte, Alan Hartesty, Oliver Little Cook, Harley Buffalo Head, and Freddie Others. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Delbert “Smokey” Cole and the Class of 1966
Curran will be available for viewing at Trout Funeral Home in Ponca City on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cultural Center at White Eagle. Curran will be buried with Military Honors at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery following the service at White Eagle.
