Personal Injury Collision in Osage County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 2:31am Saturday on SH 97 about 3/10 of a mile north of McKinley Avenue (1.5 miles west of Tulsa) in Osage County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 1999 Chevrolet pickup driven by Jonathan Dale McClure, 24, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. McClure was transported by Sand Springs EMS to St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, where he was admitted in stable condition with a head injury.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated McClure’s vehicle was northbound on SH 97 and departed roadway right. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle went into a broad slide and departed roadway left. The vehicle struck a dirt embankment and went up the embankment and through a barbed wire fence rolling ½ a time coming to rest on its top. Airbags were equipped but did not deploy; seatbelts were equipped but were not in use. The report notes an odor of alcohol and the cause of the collision is listed as DUI.
