Betty Ilene Day
(March 26, 1926 – January 13, 2017)
Betty Ilene Day of Braman, Oklahoma, passed from this life on January 13, 2017, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas, at the age of 90 years.
Betty Ilene Day was born on March 26, 1926, the second child of four to Arthur and Callie Rowan at Renfrow, Oklahoma. The Rowan family later moved to Wellington where Betty graduated high school. Following her education she worked for Hawker Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas, and First National Bank in Wellington, Kansas, before marrying Milo Day in Braman on February 11, 1950. They settled on the family farm three miles north of Braman, where she helped with the farming operation and served her family as a homemaker for many years. In 1979, they moved to their current home near Braman. She was a longtime member of the Braman Church of Christ until 1987 when the church joined the Blackwell Church of Christ and she placed her membership there. Betty loved to play card and board games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also known for her love of sewing and craftworks. She enjoyed many family vacations to Grand Lake, and though she never learned to swim she enjoyed the water, always making sure to wear a life jacket. Betty and Milo enjoyed traveling and visiting their many wonderful friends. When they would travel to Phoenix, Arizona, she always looked forward to attending the sewing and craft shows held at the fairgrounds. She was eager to be the first to show up and the last to leave. Even at the age of 85 she could go strong all day, but when health issues began to keep her home, she always kept her beautiful smile and positive attitude toward life.
She is survived by her husband, Milo Day of Braman; a son, Craig Day of Braman; an elder brother, Alan Rowan of Wichita, Kansas; two grandchildren, Susan and Lee; and four great grandchildren, all of Braman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Maxine; and a brother, Eugene.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 18th in the Blackwell Church of Christ with Lanny Jobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Braman Cemetery in Braman, Oklahoma.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas, in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
