Deer hunters find skeletal remains in Kingfisher County

PIEDMONT, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says skeletal remains have been found in Kingfisher County.
The OSBI said Thursday that the remains were found Wednesday by deer hunters just north of Piedmont. The agency says the hunters contacted the county sheriff’s office, which called the OSBI for assistance.
The OSBI says the remains were sent to the state medical examiner’s office to try to determine both the identity and the cause and manner of death.
The agency says it appears the remains had been in the area for several months.
