Mavs split four game set with North Central Missouri
The 4th ranked Northern Oklahoma College Mavs Baseball Team split a four-game series with North Central Missouri College Friday and Saturday.
The Mavs are 19-4 on the year.
NOC lost the series opener 13-3 on Friday and then rebounded to win the nightcap behind Blake Hubbard and Bryson Armstrong on the mound.
Armstrong was the winner in Game 2 tossing 2.1 innings of one-hit relief in back of starter Blake Hubbard.
Sean Klein and Ben MacNaughton had two hits each while Bryan Burgos, Gio Blackshaw and Hayden Priest had two runs batted in each.
The Mavs trailed 4-2 before scoring six runs in the sixth inning to earn the 8-4 win.
On Saturday, the Mavs won the opener 11-7 and dropped the second game 19-9.
In Game 1, the Mavs out hit NCMC 11-8 as Bryant Bailey had three hits while MacNaughton, Klein and Garrett Crone had two hits each. Crone and Blackshaw had two runs batted in each.
Armstrong earned his second win of the weekend with 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.
In Game 2, the Mavs lost 19-9, Klein and Josh Bumgarner had two hits each.

Mavs baseball sweeps Northland Technical in Sunday series
The Northern Oklahoma College Baseball team swept Northland Community Technical College 8-7 and 12-2 Sunday at Mavericks Field.
The Sunday series completed a brutal six games in three days for the 4th ranked Mavs (21-4).
“The past weekend was a great learning experience for our club,” said coach Ryan Bay. “Playing six games in three days is pretty taxing on players physically and mentally. Hopefully the experience will sharpen us and show dividends at the end of the season.”
In Game 1, the trailed 7-3 before rallying over the last two innings to win 8-7.
Hayden Priest had three hits and three runs batted in while Jaken Snider had two runs batted in.
Jackie Robinson earned the win with two scoreless innings in back of Clayton Solomon. Josh Bumgarner earned the save for the Mavs.
In Game 2, the Mavs won 12-2 by run-rule, AJ Moore allowed two runs over four innings to earn the win.
Bryan Burgos and Snider had two hits each while Snider, Sean Klein and Holden Bartosovsky had two runs batted in each.
