Representatives from the Kay County Health Department will provide updates and presentations regarding COVID-19 and community efforts to help prevent the spread of the disease in Ponca City and surrounding areas.
The public health forum is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11 at 1 p.m. inside the Kay County Health Department, 433 Fairview Ave. in Ponca City. The 2019 Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is a respiratory infection caused by a new virus identified in late 2019.
Common symptoms for the virus include fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you have the mentioned symptoms and are at high risk, call your health care provider. Tell them about your symptoms and recent travel history before visiting their hospital. One way to help prevent COVID-19 is by washing your hands with soap and water, and keep surfaces clean and disinfected.
