Baraquiel Bojorquez Madrid Sr.
(July 4, 1944 – November 17, 2016)
Baraquiel Bojorquez Madrid Sr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away early Thursday morning, November 17, 2016, at his home at the age of 72 years.
Baraquiel Bojorquez Madrid Sr. was born on July 4, 1944, in Matachic, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Manuel Jesus Rascon and Manuela Madrid Bojorquez. He moved to Idaho in 1978 where he married Socorro Loya in Rupert, Idaho, and he worked as a farmer. They moved with their family to Blackwell in 1993 where he spent his remaining days living life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. He also enjoyed taking vacations to Mexico. No matter what, he always had a smile on his face. He was one of the nicest, loving, kind and helpful men you could meet. He was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Blackwell.
He is survived by his wife, Socorro Bojorquez of Blackwell; four daughters, Benita SoSa, Blanca Bojorquez and Griselda Bojorquez and Joenica Bojorquez all of Blackwell; two sons, Baraquiel Bojorquez Jr. and Cesar Bojorquez both of Blackwell; five brothers, Manuel Rascon and Alvaro Rascon of Blackwell, Refugio Rascon of Liberal, Kansas, and Guadalupe Rascon and Isabel Rascon of Chihuahua, Mexico; three sisters, Elia Madrid Bojorquez, Carmen Bojorquez Rascon and Mercedes Bojorquez Rascon all of Chihuahua, Mexico; and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Chubbz Vazquez.
A rosary service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 18th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell. Funeral mass is set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19th in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Blackwell with Father Ben Lwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Cesar Bojorquez, Baraquiel Bojorquez Jr., Oscar Sosa, Jose Salas, Rogelio Veloz, Jorge Miranda, Refugio Rascon and Alvaro Rascon.
A memorial has been established in his honor with Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
