Ponca City Police are continuing their investigation of shots reported fired in the 900 block of North Elm Street in the early morning hours Saturday.

Police first responded  to the address after a call from a woman reporting her mother had been hit at 2:45 a.m Saturday.

The suspect vehicle was described as a blue or purple SUV with blue running lights, police reported. Witnesses said two men occupied the vehicle and were armed with a pistol and a shotgun. Witnesses said they were last seen leaving the area heading north.

Police issued an alert to area towns to attempt to locate the vehicle. Local hospitals were advised to call police if anyone with a gunshot wound sought help.

At 2:02 p.m. Sunday, officers returned to the area to take a report on damage to property following the incident. At 4:55 p.m. Sunday, a resident in the 500 block of Glendale also reported damage to property from the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ponca City Police Department.
