Former County Commissioner Convicted

The Kay County District Court convicted former Kay County Commissioner Dwight Dee Schieber, 66, on Friday for six misdemeanor counts of willful violations of law regulating official conduct.

Schieber was later found not guilty on the seventh count.

Schieber received a sentence of six months in county jail on five of the six charges and nine months in jail for the other charge. A $500 fine is also set on each charge.

A hearing for Schieber is scheduled for March 6 at 2 p.m.
