TULSA, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 15-year-old girl is dead after crashing a suspected stolen car during a pursuit with Creek County authorities.

The highway patrol says the pursuit happened Wednesday night in Tulsa after a Creek County deputy spotted a 2007 Cadillac STS that had been reported stolen. A preliminary report says the deputy was attempting to pull over the Cadillac when the driver fled and lost control of the car.

The report says the car ran off the right side of the road, struck several trees and overturned several times. Authorities say the 15-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene and a 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car was taken to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition.
