The Community is invited to attend a reception on Monday, February 24, at 5:00 p.m. in the Commission Chamber of City Hall honoring Commissioner Lanita Chapman and Commissioner Shasta Scott, who will be sworn in as City Commissioners for another 3-year term.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place during the City Commission meeting, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Chamber. Judge Bill Kirkpatrick will administer the oath of office.
Chapman has served as a City Commissioner since 2008 and Scott has served as a City Commissioner since 2017. Chapman ran unopposed for Commission Seat No. 1, and Scott ran unopposed for Commission Seat No. 3. Both will assume office for their new terms on Saturday, March 1, 2020.
