(July 7, 1935 – October 26, 2016)
Sue Baker, age 81, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Ponca City.
A ceremony to gratefully remember her will be held at 2PM Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 in the chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Ponca City. Friends and family may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday, October 31 and November 1st until 8 p.m. Casket bearers will be Dacoda Hunt, Don Settlemyer, Tim Dancey, II, Jarrett Welch, Kyter Welch, and Wes Crosson.
Sue was born on July 7, 1935 to Cecil H. Griggs and Veda E. Claterbaugh Griggs in Floydada, TX. As a selfless woman, Sue was always looking for ways to help others as she was able. In addition to her serving attitude, she was a great friend to those who took the time to know her, cultivating many close lifelong friendships. Her wit and wisdom were well know attributes, as well as being quite headstrong and quick to share her thoughts on most any matter. Her friends and family will miss her dearly.
Survivors include her son, Jack R. Robison of Tulsa, OK, daughter, Janna Dancey and husband Tim, of Ponca City, friend, caretaker and adopted son Gary Sisco of Ponca City, grandchildren: Jacqueline Robison of Enid, Kristie Settlemyer and husband Don of Iola, KS, Kori Welch and husband Jarrett of Arkansas City, T.J. Crosson and husband Wes of Edmond, OK, and Tim Dancey, II of Ponca City, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and her special Wewoka girls.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin Baker, and brother J.C. Griggs.
