Oklahoma voters to decide 7 state questions in November

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Oklahoma voters will decide seven separate state questions when they head to the voting booths on Nov. 8, including a major overhaul of the state’s laws regulating alcohol sales, many of which haven’t been updated since the Prohibition era.
Four state questions dealing with alcohol sales, farming and ranching restrictions, the death penalty and the use of public funds for religious purposes all were placed on the ballot as a result of resolutions passed by the Legislature.
Three others are the result of signature drives: one to increase the sales tax by 1 percent to fund public education and teacher pay raises and two designed to slow prison growth by reducing penalties for drug possession and property crimes and investing money into community treatment programs.
