Senior Health Forum set for Oct. 27 at Renfro Center

The Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative will present a Senior Health Forum starting at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 27 at Ponca City’s Carolyn Renfro Event Center, 445 Fairview Avenue.

Registration and a continental breakfast start at 8:30 a.m., with opening remarks and introductions at 9 a.m.

The first session at 9:05 a.m. will be on Medication Safety.

Mark Stratton, Pharm.D., BCPS, CGP, FASHP and professor at the University of Oklahoma’s College of Pharmacym, will be the presenter.

After a 10 a.m. break, the second session will be ABLE Tech: Connecting Oklahomans with Disabilities to Assistive Technology.  The presenter is Millissa Gofourth, Oklahoma ABLE Tech.

At 11 a.m., the third session begins on Medicare: Critical Questions to Ask Yourself. The presenter is Ray Walker, Divisional Director, Medicare Assistance Program at the Oklahoma Insurance Department.

A complimentary lunch and door prize drawing will be at 11:30 a.m.

The final session begins at noon. Medically Fragile and Living Choice Waivers will be presented by Princiss Rockmore and Russell Coker from the Oklahoma Health Care Authority.

Closing remarks, a survey and door prize drawing concludes the forum at 12:45 p.m.
