Police Continue Searched For Suspects Involved In Armed Robbery Attempts

PONCA CITY – As of the early hours of Thursday, Jan. 2, the Ponca City Police Department continues their search for two suspects involved in two reports of armed robberies during the early hours of Thursday, Dec. 26.

At 1:51 a.m. on Dec. 26, a gas station in the 500 block of West Highland Avenue reported two armed robbers that were young males wearing black hoodies, one with a bear on the front. The suspects also had scarves on their faces and were wearing backpacks. Police later responded to the scene, and at 2:31 a.m., the incident was listed as a false burglary. Later that same morning at 3:04 a.m., a gas station at Hartford and Union also saw two young males in black hoodies that attempted another armed robbery.

At 10:39 a.m. on Dec. 26, police made contact with two juveniles in the 2600 block of north 14th street. It was later determined they were not the suspects. However, on Dec. 29 at 1:01 a.m., police logs state a report of a van in the 1000 block of Riviera with four to five male juveniles wearing hoodies. The vehicle then left southbound on Riviera. Police noted down that the suspects could have connections to the attempted armed robberies.
