Jeffery Allen
(February 18, 1965 – July 11, 2016)
On February 18, 1965, a blonde haired, blue-eyed baby boy came into our lives. He was born to Gary Allen and Sandra Mauldin Allen in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Jeffery filled a void left by our recent loss of Merl Allen. Jeffery always mourned not getting to know his grandfather, Merl.
Very early on, Jeffery developed an unusual skill and fascination for numbers, which seemed “too easy” until the advent of the “new math,” a new and interesting challenge for him. He received early education at Roosevelt Elementary School and later went to school in Dallas. He returned back to Ponca City, attending “PO HI” where he excelled in academics, track, hurdles, wrestling and singing in the chorale. As a tiny child, he surprised the family by singing, “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” as he played in the bathtub. After High School, Jeffery began to build radio speakers for cars, winning awards by showing in competitions in Dallas. During this time, Jeffery also sang with a few bands in the public. Eventually, hand-built speakers were made obsolete by vinyl speakers, so Jeff worked in construction with his father. From time to time, he worked jobs in other states and cities. As Jeffery’s health declined, he withdrew from active life.
His acceptance of Christ as his Savior in his teens, also Baptism in Christ, assures us that by God’s Grace, his soul and spirit are now in God’s care, having left us on July 11, 2016 at the age of 51.
Jeffery is survived by his mother, Sandra Lee Allen, sister, Kristin Allen, grandmother, Norma Jeanne Allen, aunts, Jeri Allen Waller and husband Keith, Keri Allen Cooper, Rita Maddera Stewart, Marquitta Madderra Best, aunt Brenda Mauldin and her two brothers, uncles, many loving cousins, and loving friends. Also, a special family friend, Antoni Olejniczak and his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Gary Allen, grandfather, Merl Allen, grandmother, Mary Maddera and uncle, Sam Mauldin.
Honorary casketbearers are Jacy Bussy, Jill Johnson, Judi Johnson, Danielle Commarota, Desiree Best, Matthew Stewart and Chandra Stewart.
