Mildred A. Holloway of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Tuesday morning, July 12, 2016, in the AllianceHealth-Blackwell at the age of 96 years.
Mildred A. Holloway was born on November 26, 1919, in Floyd, Texas, to John Henderson and Ruth May (Williams) Wright. She grew up in Floyd and graduated from Floyd High School in 1937. She married Bud Holloway on November 25, 1939, in Greenville, Texas, and she served her family as a homemaker. Through his job they lived in various communities until 1965 when they retired to Blackwell. Her husband preceded her in death in 2002 and she continued to make Blackwell her home. She was a member of the Blackwell Church of Christ and enjoyed her family and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Hayley and husband Jack of Iowa City, Texas; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Holloway; a sister, Helen Davis; and three brothers, John, Harold and Bill Wright.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14th in the Blackwell Cemetery with Jack Hayley officiating. Her grandsons will serve as honorary casketbearers.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Blackwell Church of Christ in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
