Harry "Skip" Kenyon

(November 17, 1934 – April 3, 2016)

Harry Clifford "Skip" Kenyon, Jr. age 81 longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Oklahoma City.

Friends may pay their respects at the Funeral Home on Wednesday until 8:00pm and Thursday from 8:00am – 8:00pm. A family visitation will be held from 6:00pm -8:00pm Thursday in the Historic Great Room. A ceremony to remember Skip’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 8, 2016 in the chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory with Deacon Dick Robinson officiating. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City. Casket bearers will be Jace Allen, Gary Jensen, Dean Robbins, Matt Jensen, Len Johnson, and Micah Johnson. Honorary casket bearers will be Robert Robbins, Bradley Kenyon, Randy Kenyon, Kirby Schofield, Brandon Jensen, Brady Jensen, Kevin Jensen, Josh Johnson, and Caleb Johnson. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Skip was born on November 17, 1934 to Harry Clifford Kenyon, Sr., and Virginia Lee Brown Kenyon in Concordia, KS. Skip was raised in the northern Kansas area, which is where he met his beloved wife. On July 20, 1954, Ronnie Lea Jensen became his wife in Concordia, KS, having now celebrated over 61 years of marriage. Above all, Skip was a family man, all he put his hand to was for their care. His grandchildren, great grandchildren, and now great great grandchildren all received much love and adoration While he may not have been a man of great physical stature, his will and his character made him a giant amongst men. Skip was true to his word, worked hard, and was quick to assist anyone that needed a hand. He loved to make others laugh and lighten the mood. Skip worked as a heavy equipment operator all over the U.S. until he got a job working on the construction of Kaw Dam. Since 1971, Ponca City has been his home. When not at the controls of large machinery, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends on motorcycles. Later in life, Skip would spend many hours playing cards and cutting up with his friends and family.

Survivors include the love of his life, Ronnie Kenyon of the home; cherished daughters: Vickie Epperson and husband Leonard of Ponca City and Sherri Robbins and husband Bob of Ponca City; siblings: Bill Kenyon and wife Wendy of Franklin, GA and Irish Kenyon of La Place, LA; treasured grandchildren: Brandy Coleman and husband Brandon of Ponca City, Misty Bryer and husband Jeremy of Bartlesville, Janna Paulson and husband Don of Broken Arrow, and Jill Epperson of Ponca City: precious great grandchildren: Kearsten Kirtley, Cody Joslin, Izzy Joslin, Payton Coleman, Baley Coleman, Jordan Bryer, Mia Bryer, Abbey Paulson, Brandon Pemberton, Baylee Pemberton, and Easton Jordan; and his darling great great grandchild Ayden Kirtley. Preceding Skip in passing were his parents and sister in law Marlene. In lieu of flowers, please remember Skip with a donation to the Opportunity Center, 2225 N. Union, Ponca City, OK 74601.
