Katherine Waters

(June 30, 1938 – March 8, 2016)

Katherine Joe Waters was born on June 30, 1938 in Pawnee Oklahoma to Fredrick and May Luella Shaw.

Kathy met and married the love of her life, Johnny Waters, in 1960 and together they raised her three children Steven, Delbert and Janice.

Kathy always had a passion for music and loved to dance. When her and Johnny walked into The Moose Lodge, the DJ would announce it was time to get H20 on the dance floor and would put on Brooks and Dunn’s Boot Scooting Boogie. Kathy had a special bond with her niece, Yvonne. Raised like sisters, they grew to be best friends and shared many special memories and adventures together. Perhaps her fondest are the memories of their time spent in New Orleans.

Kathy was always the life of the party, never forgetting a birthday, she would always call her family and friends to sing to them. Kathy could always be counted on to drop everything for a friend in need, she knew no stranger and had a giving heart. Kathy was hard working, the proud owner and operator of The 77 Ranch Motel for many years. Kathy was kind, strong, brave and loyal to all those she loved. She will be greatly missed.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, son, Delbert Stanbrough, brother, Carl Shaw, sisters, Mildred Colbath, Hazel Teague, Rosella Shaw and Deloris Wilson, nephew-in-law, Wayne Holler and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Burton.

Kathy leaves behind husband, Johnny Waters of the home, son, Steve Stanbrough and wife Gail of Pawnee, daughter, Jan Bliss and husband Rick of Ponca City, niece, Yvonne Holler of Davis, niece, Cindy Johnston and husband Jim of Stillwater, grandchildren, Misty Cook and husband Chad, Amber Gordon, James Johnston, Kelly Marshall and wife Lisa, Jason Bliss and wife Misty, Alaina Stanbrough and husband Chris, Laura Kelly and husband Sam, Crystal Burton and husband Elijah, Brandon Horinek and wife DeeAnn, Amanda Bliss, great grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob, Tristen, Andrew, Carson, Colton, Reygan, Payton, Shelby, Alex, Abigail, Hailey, Hayden, Eternity, Loura, Cayson, Pierce, Emmy two great-great grandsons, Axel and Landon and many life long friends.
