Mozelle Afton Sodowsky

(January 19, 1920 – January 29, 2016)

Mozelle A. Sodowsky, age 96, former longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away January 29, 2016 in Norman, OK.

She will be available for viewing from 9AM-8PM on Monday, February 1 with the family present from 6-8PM. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Russell Aday officiating. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park. Casket bearers will be Clint Sodowsky, Matthew Sodowsky, Joshua Sodowsky, Michael Kirk, Michael Farrar, and Jim Kelly. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mozelle was born on January 19, 1920 to William and Hallie Matthews Sharp in Dora, MO. The Bartlesville area was where she was raised. After high school, she attended Oklahoma A & M. While there she met her dear husband. On July 5, 1939, Mozelle married Jess Sodowsky. They had celebrated 75 years together before his passing last year.

Survivors include her beloved children: Janet M. Jones of Yukon, Oklahoma, Jimmie L. Sodowsky of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Timothy B. Sodowsky and wife Robin of Wichita, Kansas, Jess B. Sodowsky, Jr.of Wichita, Kansas, Richard M. Sodowsky, and wife Donna of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Sonja Hall, Yvonne Sodowsky, Jennifer Herb, Clint Sodowsky, Katie Kirk, Matthew Sodowsky, Meagan Decher, Joshua Sodowsky, Jill Farrar, Keri Sodowsky, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Susie Sharp, Dr. Woodrow Sharp, Gail Myers, Ruby Miller and her nephew Junior Myers.
