Georgia Marie Stoddard
(May 7, 1919 – October 29, 2015)
Georgia Marie Stoddard formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Thursday afternoon, October 29, 2015, in the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 96 years.
Georgia Marie Stoddard was born on May 7, 1919, in Aline, Oklahoma, to Henry Thomas and Mary Belle (Thomas) Lindley. At the age of six years she moved with her family to Missouri before making their home in Tonkawa in 1932 where she attended Tonkawa Public Schools. Following her education she moved to Perry to work and while there married Alvin Raymond Stoddard on December 12, 1939. They remained in Perry until 1942 when they moved to Blackwell to make their home. In 1960 they moved to Borger, Texas, before returning to Blackwell in 1975. Her husband preceded her in death on April 15, 1978. She later moved to Wichita, Kansas, to be near her family. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell. She enjoyed crafting, reading, music and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverley Osborn of Wichita, Kansas, and Delphia Clark and husband Larry Clark of Lewis Center, Ohio; four grandsons; two granddaughters; eight great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and many other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Thomas Alvin and D. J. Stoddard; five sisters; and two brothers.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Byron Barrientez, 47th Street Church of Christ, Wichita, Kansas, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers will be Larry Clark, Steve Clark, Charlie Armstrong, Ben Hatcher, Brandon Hatcher and Ron Hatcher.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the American Cancer Society in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
