Hailee Blake Emerson
(February 2, 1998 – October 5, 2015)
Hailee Blake Emerson came into the world on February 2, 1998, in Colby, Kansas with a smile on her face. She is the daughter of Kim and Steve Emerson of Braman, Oklahoma. Hailee went to heaven to take care of her Grandpa on October 5, 2015 at the age of 17 years 8 months and 3 days.
Always with a smile on her face and giving smiles to everyone she met, she was a mentor to so many people, such a hard worker and such a giver. She loved 4-H and FFA, showing her animals, and teaching her enthusiasm to others. She is already dearly missed by her family, friends and all who had the blessing of knowing her. She would pick up a wrench and help her dad on his truck before he could ask for help; she was always there in her cowboy boots ready to give a helping hand. A wrench in one hand and a show stick in the other, she was always ready to help.
Hailee is the 2015 “Miss Braman”, a senior at Blackwell High School after being homeschooled by her Mom for the past 10 years. She was attending Pioneer Vo-Tech for welding, where she earned two welding certificates. She was also a Student Leadership Academy member and was involved with Girls for Success at Pioneer Vo-tech.
Hailee was always working with animals and helping fellow show people with her showmanship skills and tips. She was awarded top Showmanship at the Northwest District show and Senior Showman at various Kay County shows, her philosophy was being a winner in showmanship was the judge judging you and how you preformed with your animal.
Hailee could always be found at the Head Trucking office working with the cattle and Kyson, showing him great showmanship. Neal and Denise and family considered her as their own, she loved working with Neal and his cattle.
She was very active in the OK Okie 4-H club and held the offices of President and Vice President as well as other important roles in the club. Hailee was also was the secretary of the Kay County Teen Leaders, as well as a volunteer at the Cherokee Strip Red Cross and the Blood Mobile.
She loved to fish with her with her “adopted” grandpa Butch or her Mom down on the creek or pond. Her nickname was “Hailee-Bug”, you will have to ask her Mom where that name came from. When stuck in the house she loved to paint pictures, especially crosses and she also enjoyed doing leather work.
When you think of Hailee, remember she is grooming all the animals in heaven and making sure everyone has a smile as big as hers. When you think of Hailee smile and look up toward the heavens and she will smile back on you. One of her favorite songs is “I’ll leave the world loving you”
Hailee is survived by her parents, Kim and Steve Emerson of Braman, Oklahoma. Her sisters Alex and Riley of the home, Michelle, husband Gerald, and niece Gabriella Sessions, of Brewerton, New York, Grandparents Harriet and Lyle Smith of Cooperstown, New York, Kenneth and Linda Emerson of Milford, New York, and her “Oklahoma Grandparents” Butch and Debbie Schaefer. Hailee is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
