Obituary for Danny Machesoni

Danny Lee Marchesoni, life-long Ponca City resident, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was 76.
Danny was born in Ponca City on January 6, 1939, to Mary (Denoya) and Cirillo Marchesoni. He attended Braden School in Osage County until moving to town his sixth grade year. He then attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, graduating in 1957.
After graduation, Danny spent a few years farming with his father. In 1961, he accepted a job with the Ponca City Fire Department where he worked until his retirement. During his career, he achieved the rank of Captain.
In June of 1962, Danny married Judy Kay Parris at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They made their home and raised their five children on their farm in rural Osage County until moving into Ponca City in 1980.
After his retirement, Danny enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking and attending services at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Danny was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Anthony, his parents, his brother Billy Joe Marckesoni and his loving wife Judy.
He is survived by his children: John Marchesoni and wife Amy of Ponca City, Mary Fitch and husband Kirk of Bentonville, AR, Rose Brugman and husband Kyle of Grand Rapids, MI, Marcus Marchesoni of Vinita, OK, and Julia Marchesoni of Ponca City; his brother, Val Marchesoni of Mesquite, TX; a sister, Rosemary Barron of Ponca City; grandchildren, Danielle Davis, Justin Davis, Dylan Fitch, Mayci Marchesoni, Johna Marchesoni, Chandler Marchesoni, Adelynn Marchesoni, Devin Stout, Tyler Stout, Gage Stout, Tucker Stout, Jason Marchesoni, Jeremy Gregg and Sarah Gregg; a great grandson, Gunner Gregg, and numerous special nieces and nephews.
A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2015 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetary. Casket bearers will be Kenneth Sherron, Matthew Marchesoni, Justin Davis, Cory Vincent, Joe Thompson, Victor Marchesoni and Nicholas Marchesoni.
The family will be at the home of John and Amy Marchesoni at 2116 Juanito Avenue.
Over the past nine months, Danny received services from Carter Healthcare and Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, who also cared for his wife during her illness. The family greatly appreciates their support and requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to one of these agencies in his name.
