Betty Lou Morgan, 88, born June 2, 1927 in Ponca City, OK, died July 4, 2015 in Plano, Texas.
Visitation at Trout Funeral Home is from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, and services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Ponca City, OK. Trout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Keegan Larimer, Dick Morgan, Don Morgan, Steve Larimer, Cleo Larimer, and Brad Larimer.
She is survived by her three children: Jack W. Larimer and wife Ruthie, Lafayette, LA; Debra Cox and husband Mike, Allen, Texas; and Kevin A. Larimer and wife Linda, Dallas, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Betty was married to William A. Larimer of Ponca City, OK from April 9, 1944 until his death in January 1968. She was married to Bobby J. Morgan of Corpus Christi, TX from July 29, 1983 until his death in February 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Fred Phillips and Mildred “Lizzie” Phillips; and her sisters Della Phillips Morgan and Melba Phillips, both of Ponca City, OK.
During her lifetime, Betty had many interests. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for various businesses in Ponca City, OK and Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a long time member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ponca City, OK, and more recently attended Allen Heights Baptist Church, Allen, Texas. Her other interests included painting, bowling and a great love of music.
The family would like to gratefully thank her friend Carol Barkley for her devotion and companionship over the last several years. Also, to the staff and residents at Day Springs Assisted Living Center for the loving care and Christian environment they provided.
She will be remembered as a devout Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
