Obituary for Lura Creech

Lura Mable Creech, longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma and recent resident of Blackwell, OK passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at her home. She was 105.

The funeral service will be held at 11 in the morning, at the First Christian Church in Ponca City with Rev. Larry Metzger officiating. Burial will then follow at Resthaven Memorial park in Ponca City at 1:30 in the afternoon. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral home and Crematory of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Lura Mable Todd was born May 12, 1910 on a farm east of Rogers Arkansas, and grew up in the clifty Arkansas area. She attended Rogers High school. She married Lennis Creech, of Rogers, Arkansas and the coupe then moved to Oklahoma. She resided in Woloco, Barnsdall, Burbank and Carter Nine, where she was post master before moving to Ponca City in 1943. Mable was a cashier at the Jens Marie coffee Shop and Earl Hedges’ pioneer Grill before becoming a hostess at the Ponca City Country Club, where she had worked for 14 years. She was the bookkeeper for Farha Wholesale for 12 years.

She is survived by one son; Bob Creech of Burbank, Oklahoma, one daughter; Sue Riley of Joplin, Missouri, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 36 great- great- grandchildren and three great-great-great children

She is Preceded in death by her husband; Lennis Creech, her daughter; Yvonne Edwards and one grandson; Richard Edwards.
