Obituary for Ernest Hardiman

Ernest Newton Hardiman was born in Ashton, Kansas on October 17, 1927 to Jasper Newton and Lela Marie (Davis) Hardiman. He passed away on May 14, 2015 in Oklahoma City at the age of 87.
Ernest lived on a farm mostly while growing up. He graduated from school in Braman, OK. After graduating he went to work at a meat packing plant in Arkansas City, KS. The plant had a semi-pro baseball team which Ernest played on.
He married Myrna Lou Mercer on October 29, 1949 at the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, OK . They have been married 65 years.
After working for the meat packing plant, they moved to a farm east of Braman, OK and farmed there for 11 years. From the farm they moved to Blackwell, OK in 1963. Where they have lived for over 50 years. He started working in the oil fields. He was a pumper for Dave Morgan Oil Company, Anderson Oil Company and Woods Oil Company, He liked working outside as a pumper, he always kept his wells clean and pumping. Ernest enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had three fishing friends, Odell Howard, Jay Corbitt and David Millo.
He is survived by his wife Myrna of the home and son David Alan Hardiman of Dexter, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters Vicky Lynn Hardiman, and Christi Lea Hardiman.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 am, Monday May 18, 2015 with Rev. Jeff Koch, officiating at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Blackwell.
