Obituary for Nathan Ray Perry

Ray Perry, 91, longtime resident of Ponca City, OK, died Tuesday, May 5th in Houston, TX. Nathan Ray Perry grew up in Stratford, OK and was the retired former owner of Tonkawa Tank, Tonkawa, OK and Perry Brothers Orchard, Wenatchee, WA. Mr. Perry was an avid golfer who donated funds to help build the current clubhouse at Lew Wentz Memorial Golf Course in Ponca City. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII, stationed in Okinawa. Mr. Perry had his pilot’s license and until he retired he loved to fly his Beechcraft Bonanza. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ponca City.
Ray was the son of Ethel Allred and Bradford Perry, Stratford, OK and was married to his loving wife, Betty Beatrice “Bea” Riedel for 70 years.
Mr. Perry is survived by his daughter, Donna Davis, and her husband, Cliff Davis of Brenham, TX; his son, Ken Perry of Austin, TX ; his son, Chuck Perry of East Wenatchee, WA; sister Mary Lou Richardson of Stratford, OK; brother, Lewis Perry of Stratford, OK. Mr. Perry is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Robyn Brown of Katy, TX; Marc Davis of Houston; Craig Perry, Camp Pendleton, CA and Shae Perry, Spokane, WA. Mr. Perry is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; Kaitlyn and Reed Brown; Nathan and Ellie Davis and Riley Austyn Perry.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Ponca City on Monday, May 11th at 2:00 PM. The family requests that memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/). Interment will follow at Rest Haven cemetery.
