Obituary for Patricia Haynes

Patricia Louise Haynes, long time resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, went to be with her Father in Heaven on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Surrounded by her daughter Patty and son-in-law Wes Schneider lovingly holding her hand. She was 88.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Monday, April 27, 2015 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Kevin Ratterman officiating. Burial will then follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. There will be a Rosary held at Trout Funeral Home on Sunday, April 26 at 6:30pm.

Pat was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on August 21, 1926 She was the daughter of Alice Brown Younger and Joe Seth Younger. She was raised in Clinton, Oklahoma. Went to Nurses Training at Okmulgee Tech, where Pat met the love of her life, Samuel Edward Haynes Jr. Sam and Pat later married on December 14, 1946 in Clinton, Oklahoma. They were married for 65 years. Pat and Sam lived in Pawhuska and later moved to Ponca City in 1947 where they made their home. Pat worked for First Baptist Church, First Christian, St. Paul Methodist Church and Eastern Heights for Mother’s Day Out programs, Women’s Bible Study and Evening Church Services as a childcare worker for over 30+ years. She became known as "Miss Pat"

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Whittaker and her husband Leon of Wichita, Kansas; and Patricia (Patty) Schneider and her husband Wes of Ponca City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Traci and Andy Krider of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Michael and Renea Whittaker of Goddard, Kansas; James and Sonya Schneider of Glenpool, Oklahoma; Cynthia Wheeler of Wichita, Kansas; great grandchildren, Brittany Amezeca of Glenpool, Oklahoma; Jacob and Jordan Laura Ann Wheeler of Wichita, Kansas; Devin, Isaac and Olivia Whittaker of Goddard, Kansas; sister-in-law, Helen Britton of Edmond, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews Also life-long family friends.

Pat loved all her family and friends, she never met a stranger. She loved family gatherings and time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all loved her deeply…she will truly be missed by all.

Preceded in death by her husband Samuel Edward Haynes Jr., brothers Clarence Younger, Joe Younger, Wilbur Younger, Vern Younger, and Ellis Younger; sisters, Mildred Younger and Lucy Caudron.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma or the Golden Villa Center.
