Obituary for Beverly Evans

Beverly Jo Evans formerly of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, in Sequoyah Manor in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, at the age of 81 years.
Beverly Jo Evans was born on September 7, 1933, in Blackwell to Emmett and Grace (Hood) Wilkins. She grew up in Blackwell attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1952. Following her education she worked for various members of her church. On August 15, 1960, she married Doyle Evans in Blackwell. His work as a minister of the Church of Christ took them to several communities in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. While living in Geary, Oklahoma, her husband preceded her in death on October 3, 1983, and in June of 1984 her family returned to Blackwell. In 1996 she moved to Clinton, Oklahoma, and later to Sallisaw to be near her son and grandchildren. She was a member of the West Ark Church of Christ in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by her son, Brent Evans and wife Carol of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; a brother, Cliff Wilkins and wife Dolores of Blackwell; three sisters, Betty Fox of Blackwell, Velma Mitchell and husband Gerald of Blackwell, and Myrna Fath and husband J. C. of Tonkawa; and three grandchildren, Hayden, Haleigh and Hope Evans all of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., April 8th in the Blackwell Church of Christ with Chris Benjamin and Gary Brown of West Ark Church of Christ and Lanny Jobe of Blackwell Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.
The nephews of Mrs. Evans will serve as casketbearers.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Blackwell Church of Christ Library in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74361.
