Obituary for Keena Hand

Keena Lee Hand, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015, in Ponca City. She was 34.

A wake service will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 6 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home Chapel.

The Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, March 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Kevin Ratterman, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

Keena was born on Aug. 27, 1980, in Ponca City the daughter of David Lee Hand and Karen Angeline Pruitt Leggett. She was raised in Ponca City. She worked as phlebotomist.

She was a loving mother to her children. As a CNA, she had a strong compassion for the elderly. She had a gentle heart and was always willing to help others. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A devout child of God. She loved to go swimming, studying the bible and writing prayers.

She is survived by her children, Wade David Hand, Brea Lee Hand and Layla Ann Hand, all of Ponca City; mother, Karen Leggett and husband Jim, of Ponca City; father, David Lee Hand, of Ponca City; brother, Elijah James Leggett, of Ponca City; grandmother, Angeline Rose Pruitt, of Ponca City; honorary sister, Hannah Mckay Larimer, of Ponca City and honorary mother, Lisa Elaine Webb, of Ponca City; and honorary father, Bruce Piel. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Francis David Hand and Cozetta Hand; Alvin Earl Pruitt; aunt, Zola Ann Pruitt; and grandfather, Bill Piel.

Casketbearers will be the Ponca City High School Soccer team. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to an Educational Fund at Eastman National Bank; attn: Jane Padgett, PO Box 190, 222 E. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK 74602 and funeral contributions can be made at Gofundme.net.
