Obituary for Leona Hamm

Leona M. Hamm, 81, of Ponca City, formerly of Winfield, KS, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Leona was born on February 25, 1934 in Cedar Vale, KS to Fred William and Gladys May (Anderson) Duensing. She and Charles Phillip Hamm were married on April 17, 1955 in Winfield, KS.
Leona graduated from Moline High School and Wichita Business College. She was secretary at Country View Elementary School and Bookkeeper at Cales Plumbing Shop both in Winfield, KS. She had retired from the Cowley County Appraisers Office at the Court House in Winfield. She was a member of Tisdale United Methodist Church of Tisdale, KS and Asbury United Methodist Church of Ponca City where she had been Church Treasurer, sang in both choirs, treasurer of the memorial committee, held offices in the United Methodist Women, Tisdale 4-H Volunteer, volunteer at Ponca City Medical Center and member of AARF(Asbury Adult Recreational Friends). She was a very avid supporter of her grandkids and their activities.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers; Bill Duensing and Bob Duensing.
Leona is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands; Carol S. and Tim Harden of Ponca City and Judy K. and Steve Kunkel of Winfield, KS. Sisters; Jeanie Kistler of Udall, KS and June Rockey of Topeka, KS. 5 grandchildren Jennifer Valentine, Erin Liberton, Erica Morris, Ellen Masters and Mark Harden, 2 step-grandsons; Dan Harden and John Matthew Harden. 6 great Grandchildren with 3 more on the way and 3 step great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 10 am Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Asbury United Methodist Church of Ponca City with Rev. James Riggs officiating. Additional services will be 2 pm Tuesday at the Tisdale United Methodist Church, burial to follow in the Tisdale Cemetery.
